What's Your Story? Global Rhythms

What's Your Story? features the different characters that roam the streets of Toronto. Every Monday and Thursday, a new person shares their story, likes and dislikes about the city, a little secret and more.

Jagger

Name: Jagger (and Chaya)

Age: 36

What neighbourhood are you from? Queen and John

What do you 'do'? Youth worker and founder of a non-profit organization called Global Rhythms.

How long have you been in Toronto? 7/8 years

What's your story?

I'm just a kid who loves growing as a person and who loves humanity and making a difference in the world. I love life.

I'm very spiritual and believe in a higher power. I don't believe in coincidences. Everything happens for a reason.

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

There's such a vibe in Toronto - it's inspiring to be part of the energy and life here. There are so many different things to do. It's very vibrant and multicultural. I feel alive here.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

People judging street kids and the homeless. Who are they to judge them? You'll hear so many different conversations about it and negative comments that don't need to be made. Try throwing a simple smile and be grateful that you're not in their shoes.

You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?

I'd pick out a list of the coolest and hippest spots, depending on their personality and who they are. Seasoned traveler? Nature lover? Queen Street and definitely Kensington Market. Maybe High Park. I'd take them to where the action is. In the evening, the Royal or Bloor Cinema to see a non-Hollywood movie.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

I was abducted by an alien when I was 13.
