Igor Kenk's stolen bike parts hang by a nail on a garage raided by Toronto police

Get Your Stolen Bike Back This Weekend

This weekend is your last chance to recover your stolen bike from the hordes of stolen bikes recovered by police during raids on Igor Kenk and his bike clinic.

As of last Tuesday, a total of 2,865 bikes were seized by Toronto police over the course of a few weeks in July. Remarkably, only about 20 percent of those bikes have been returned to their owners.

Kenk was arrested and faces a total of 58 theft and drug-related charges.

You can take a look at the stash today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 35 Strachan Ave.

Even if your bike was stolen in Toronto over a year or two ago, there's a chance it was stored for a while in one of the garages that the police raided.

If you haven't already registered your bike, take a few minutes and fill out the TPS Bicycle Registration Form now. You'll be glad you did.

Be sure to include any identifiable marks or additions you may have made to your bike since its original purchase. The more decorated or customized your bike is, the greater the likelihood of it being recovered, or not stolen in the first place.

If your bike gets stolen, you'll likely never get it back if it's not registered.
