Your morning news roundup for Monday February 25th, 2008:

The relentless winter snowfall activity is returning for yet another wave overnight and tomorrow. Depending on how the storm tracks, we could see as little as 5cm or as much as 15cm of accumulation. Mother Nature, we have enough, thank you. Now stop.

Mississauga residents have come up with an ambitious plan to renew the waterfront wasteland that is currently sitting at the site of the former Lakeview power plant. I'd love to include the link to Phinjo Gombu's Toronto Star piece on this, but have elected to impose a voluntary, temporary moratorium on linking to the Star until they at least dignify our valid questions with a response.

Here's a bizarre one. Police are appealing to the public to help them ID a man who was seen tossing a suitcase into the Niagara River before jumping in and being swept over the falls by the current of the river. They haven't found his body, but are like 99.99999999% sure that he didn't survive the plunge.

A 15-year old girl who was riding in the backseat of a car driven by a drunk teen has died after the car was involved in a collision with another vehicle and a TTC bus shelter. In other news, a Greyhound bus on the way to Toronto from Pennsylvania flipped on the highway injuring 40+ people.

Mats Sundin has "never believed in the concept of a rental player." He's standing proud and tall and has refused to waive the no-trade clause in his contract with the Leafs, meaning he'll likely end his career with the blue and white. Could the current season, which is nearing its end, be his last in the NHL?
