Your morning news roundup for July 9th, 2007:

An Air India flight leaving from Pearson Airport was delayed for several hours after box cutters made it through initial security screenings. Air India was legitimately a little freaked out, all things considered.

Police are trying out a new anti-street racing plan, complete with a fancy acronym. Not everyone's happy, though, with one man complaining he got a ticket because he's 21 years old an has an exhaust system. Personally, I have a definite need for speed.

Speaking of street racing, the guy who won the Toronto Grand Prix is named Will Power. I couldn't have made that name up if I tried.

There are some dirty rumors going 'round that healthy food will now be sold by street vendors. For some reason street vendor salad doesn't sound quite as appetizing when the leafs and greens have been sitting in the smoggy air of downtown Toronto for even a few minutes.

It rained yesterday! The grass is now a little greener and the trees are a little taller. Don't trust the sunny skies, though, as we've got heat and thunderstorm warnings in effect for the afternoon. Eff it, I'm still riding my bike to work.

The new 7 Wonders of the World are announced. Is anyone else surprised that the El Mocambo wasn't in the running? Great wall great schmall.

There won't be any Crossroads puzzles this week. That's Jerrold's territory and I'd probably just put up the intersections where Beer Stores are located. He left on a jet plane and will return in a few days. Next time he takes off, perhaps he'll get to ride on one of these new puppies.
