Rainbow Over City Hall

Possibly the most to-the-point flag raising I've ever witnessed, Kyle Rae and the Forte Men's Choir wasted little time in getting the saturated rainbow flag up and into the winds of downtown Toronto earlier today. Perhaps I just arrived really late, but It couldn't have been a quarter past noon when the rainbow was hoisted.

Something cool to note is that Kyle Rae also had a sign-language interpreter on stage with him, just like all the speakers at the Pride Launch Party had as well. While that's nice and all, the trippy thing is that every single official Toronto Pride event will have the signers, and that includes every single concert taking place this weekend. The bands were asked to send lyric sheets to the Pride offices in advance of their show so that the interpreters could arrive prepared. It's been a long time coming, but at last the hard of hearing can feel dirty hot when they hear the lyrics to Lesbians on Ecstasy's song "Pleasure Principal"; I look forward to seeing what "it made me cream my jeans" looks like when signed out.

Jump the fold for more shots from today's ceremony.
