Local World Cup of Soccer Events Are On

World Cup fever is heating up in town and, as usual, St. Clair West is already partying.

The Kick It! community festival 'kicked' off on the 2nd and will be on until June 18th. Events -- all soccer-themed -- have ranged from photography exhibits and movie screenings to parades and soccer clinics.

Tonight, for example, you can take part in the "World Cup of Wine" (wine tasting) at Regal Heights Bistro and later choose between 2 soccer film screenings: GolĂŠ (narrated by Sean Connery, yes!) at Liberty Tax (1080 St. Clair W) or Garrincha at A Bica Cafe (1089 St Clair W).

Visit the Kick It! website for full event listings.

And should you find that there is low-attendance at any of tonight's events, it may just because everyone's gone Rogers Video -- no location along St. Clair -- where starting tomorrow morning, June 9th, tickets will be given away to see the World Cup final on the monster screen at the Rogers Centre/Skydome.
