Radar: Amon Tobin, The Art Generator Sessions, Trampoline Hall, Supermarket Folkin' Mondays

MUSIC | Amon Tobin 'ISAM' 2.0 @ Kool Haus
Electronic music icon Amon Tobin hits the Kool Haus tonight. With a large body of work released largely on London's Ninja Tune label, Tobin has now taken his production finesse to the next level with Isam, an album he released last year that finds him pushing his own envelope creatively. Tobin has also pushed the envelope with regards to the performance of his music, and this show will be a far cry from a "one man at a control surface" type of spectacle. This is the second round of this tour, and a sophisticated team of artists, and set and lighting designers have collaborated on what has been described as being closer to an "art installation" than a typical stage setup. Should be interesting!
Kool Haus (132 Queens Quay East) 9PM $35

ART | The Art Generator Sessions SEPT EDITION
Loft404's Motley Mondays has a different kind of idea for some after-work entertainment. Instead of chilling out and shutting down, turn your creative juices on and see what you can discover! The Art Generator is a special event happening on the first Monday of every month at Loft 404, where a specific art project is planned, and all participants arrive ready to put their own 'twist' on the assignment. Tonight, "Mosaic Mirrors" is the slated project, and you can bring some extra materials (such as fabric or buttons) to leave an original mark, or simply show up and all necessary materials will be provided.
Loft404 ~ The Ambrosia Hub (263 Adelaide Street West) 6:30PM $20

CULTURE | Trampoline Hall
TO's favourite "barroom lecture series" returns to The Garrison tonight. This well-attended event features a different lineup of speakers each time, and they each concentrate on a subject deliberately chosen to be outside of their area of expertise. The results can range from hilarious to absurd, but always entertaining! Tonight Kelly Jenkins has curated the selection of speakers: Rea McNamara will speak on the Jane Fonda Workout, Alec Donovan has "satisfaction" on deck for his lecture topic, and Kate Hood will talk to us about "prison theatre." Come and find out why Trampoline Hall is always packed.
The Garrison (1197 Dundas Street West) 7:30PM $6

MUSIC | Supermarket Folkin' Mondays!
Kensington Market's celebrated live venue, Supermarket, has already made their mark on a few nights of the week: Wednesdays "Go Pop," Saturdays "Do Right," and now there's the recently established Folkin' Mondays! Singer/songwriter Darren Eedens hosts this weekly genre-specific showcase, and both solo artists and folk bands will be featured on an ongoing basis. Tonight, in addition to Eedens' performance, Ben Somer, and Beth Moore will each play a set.
Supermarket - Kensington Market (268 Augusta Avenue) 9PM
