MUSIC | Allison Brown, Nancy Dutra & Willow Rutherford Songs & Stories
Allison Brown, Nancy Dutra, and Willow Rutherford are three singers who found a great blend, and a natural chemistry together last year around this time, when they did a short tour from T.O to Montreal with a few small town stops along the way. Their love of great songs and great stories won them many friends and fans on that particular excursion, and they're doing it again. Tonight launches this short tour, and they will be hitting Campbellford, Perth, and Ottawa before doing the final show in Montreal. The group's sound is rooted in roots, jazz, gospel, cabaret, and folk. Come to the Tranzac tonight and give them a send off to remember!

This exhibition is a photographic one, and centers around photos captured during a period spent in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. There will also be performances by Cathy Gordon, Meagan O' Shea, Heidi Strauss, and Kate Hilliard at tonight's launch. This show runs until this Saturday, May 26th.

This evening's event is part of the Eh List Author series, which gathers Canadian authors for readings and book signings at seven different Toronto libraries across the city.

ART | Cc: me
Elaine Whittaker's "Cc: me" installation launches this afternoon at The Red Head Gallery. This is a multi-media work in the truest sense of the word, with the installation utilizing sketches on fax paper, sound, live bacteria, and more. Observations on the relationships between language and the human body, politics, commercialism, and many other issues are explored in this oeuvre. Local poets Julie Roorda, Jim Johnstone, Ruth Roach Pierson and Larry Sulky contribute responses to these issues and the work itself, along with sound artist Tom Auger.
