ART | "La Petite Mort" Launch: Will Santillo & Sasha Van Bon Bon in coversation
The Gladstone Hotel proudly hosts what is likely to be the steamiest book launch TO has seen in a while! Photographer Will Santillo's new work, "La Petite Mort" carries a title that gives you cues the "Big O" is involved, and he has narrowed his authorial focus to self-pleasure.... of the female variety. Santillo photographed a great number of women over the course of several years, all in the act of "self love". He also interviewed many of them about their sexual perspectives, and shares these candid exchanges with the reader. At tonight's launch, Santillo will sit down with Now Magazine's sex columnist, Sasha Van Bon Bon for what should be a lively conversation about "La Petite Mort", and a Q&A plus book signing will follow.
The Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West) 8PM $5/Free with book purchase

FILM | ReelHeart 2011
ReelHeart returns once again with its 2011 International Film Festival. This is the only "web savvy" festival out there sporting a Virtual Awards Ceremony! Today marks the beginning of the festival, and the program will begin with a short animated film by Taiwanese filmmaker Yen-Ting Cho. Our feature film, "Land Gold Women", is a story of family ties, forbidden love, and conflict, and is directed by Avantika Hari. The festival runs until Saturday.
Innis Town Hall (2 Sussex Street) 5PM $10/$7 students and seniors

MUSIC | Ours with The Mark Inside & Freedom or Death
After being solidly tested to see how much bass the venue can handle, tonight the Wrongbar will test its capacity for...Rock! An interesting and early triple bill goes down: American alt-rockers, Ours have been at it since the mid-nineties, with lead singer/guitarist Jimmy Gnecco at the helm. They have churned out some successful singles, such as "Sometimes", and worked with great producers such as Steve Lillywhite and Rick Rubin. Also on the bill is The Mark Inside. Originally from Whitby, these guys have honed their garage rooted indie-rock sound over many years and many tours to become a very tight and aggressive outfit. Opening the show is TO's own Freedom Or Death.
Wrongbar (1279 Queen Street West) 7PM $10

MUSIC | Elvis Mondays
NXNE has indeed passed, but there's an awesome showcase of the TO Rock you must know about, and it goes down tonight, and every week at Elvis Monday. Its been going on longer than you'd believe! Tonight catch The Meek, Corinna Rose, In Plain View, The New Ambassadors, Unheimlich Manoeuvre, and the ever-present People of Canada.
The Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street West) 9PM FREE
