Radar: Trampoline Hall, 86'D Monday w/ Ivy Knight, Brodie Power & Spence, FML Mondays presents "Put It In," Nature's Palette....Abstracted
CULTURE | Trampoline Hall
Another edition of this well-anticipated and well-attended series that straddles the border between lecture, show and 'happening'. The founders and curators of this ongoing 'show' that has made inroads into the US, thrive on 'looseness', eccentricity and spontaneity in their guest lecturers, whose subject matter is often decidedly esoteric. This evening's edition is curated by Kelly Jenkins, and features Heather Phenix, Tony Halmos, and Rafe Macpherson.
The Garrison (1197 Dundas Street West), 7:30PM $5
CULTURE | 86'D Monday w/Ivy Knight: Bin End + Board Games
The Drake Hotel Lounge offers a multi-disciplinary hang, if you will, on Monday nights. Your host, gastronomic guru Ivy Knight, always has a food-oriented attraction or contest on the go, plus there's music by Bootknives and 86'D. Tonight board games and matching wines will be one of the many distractions vying for your attention.
The Drake Hotel Lounge (1150 Queen Street West), 7PM FREE
MUSIC | Brodie Power & Spence
The Mansion presents another night of sweet sounds featuring Brodie Power (aka B-Power), with Spence spinning a support set. If the promise of "vinyl all night long" doesn't seal the deal for you, couple that with $2 drinks before 11:30, and... you're there!
The Social (1100 Queen Street West), 10PM $5
CLUBS | FML Mondays presents "Put It In"
Who hasn't been there? "F--- My Life" is a sentiment we all share at some point or another. Four out of five doctors recommend.... a night out as the cure! The Matts, a DJ Duo who share the same first name will provide the tunes, and Fuzion will help you drown those sorrows something fierce.
Fuzion (580 Church Street), 10PM FREE
ART | Nature's Palette... Abstracted
Landscape has been a subject for painters and photographers for as long as these mediums have existed. "Nature's Palette....Abstracted", a group show which opens this afternoon, features art from Kate Taylor and Richard Manilla, and photography from Scott Garant, all incorporating this classic subject in their work, but from an "abstract" perspective.
Ben Navanee Gallery (1111 Queen Street East), 1PM FREE
