Radar: The Edge Jingle Bell Rock 2010, Tequila & More Tasting Show, Vive Magazine's Lite Brite, It's A Wonderful Improvised Life, Nero with Killabits

MUSIC | The Edge Jingle Bell Rock 2010
For the past five years, 102.1 the Edge has been putting on The Jingle Bell Rock with help from event promoters, The Union. What started out as just one night of mayhem, has transformed into a kick-ass concert series spanning over the month of December. The opening show tonight features a band that knows how to do indie rock better than any other, The Arkells. In partnership with Goldenvoice and hosted by Bookie from The Edge, it will be the perfect way to get in the festive spirit with a little live music and a sick party.
The Phoenix Concert Theatre (410 Sherbourne Street), 8pm, $21 + FF&S/C All Ages

DRINK | Tequila & More Tasting and Sampling Show
After long nights of consuming tequila in an efficient manner, it can be hard to believe people actually sip and enjoy the stuff. The Tequila Tasting Show is exactly the place for you to experience this finer way of drinking the favourite Mexican bebida. With over 30 brands of tequila, you are sure to get your fixing and probably some warm and fuzzy feelings along with it. Perfect way to cozy up on a chilly winter night.
Metro Toronto Convention Centre (255 Front Street West), 4-10pm $45 adv, $50 door

FASHION | Vive Magazine's Lite Brite
The fashionistas at U of T are celebrating the third year of Vive Magazine, the hip, student-run fashion mag at Augusta House this Friday night. What's better than getting tips first-hand from the young trendsetters themselves? Even better, this event is catered to those who rather spend their money on style than drinks: mix drinks are $3.50 until 11pm and cover is only 5 bucks. The music is sure to be as in vogue as much as the outfits. Wear your best and get ready to mingle.
Augusta House (152 Augusta Avenue), 8pm, $5 19+

THEATRE | It's A Wonderful Improvised Life
Taking a modern spin on a retro flick, some of the city's most renowned improvisers grace the stage tonight at the Bad Dog Theatre. The timeless tale, It's A Wonderful Life will be performed a la improv and with the cast relying on the audience's input to tell the story. Who knows what surprising places the show could end up in. A unique opportunity to experience George Bailey like you've never seen him before; through the imagination of some creative individuals in the 21st century.
Bad Dog Theatre (138 Danforth Avenue), 8pm $12

MUSIC | Nero, The Killabits, Hydee & Grimeskee @ Mod Club
Vanguards of dubstep, Nero are currently on a worldwide tour and storming into Toronto tonight with their show at The Mod Club. Hailing from the UK, they have solidified their prowess in their musical genre of choice and are known around the globe for their consistently brilliant releases and remixes. These tracks have an uncanny way of moving even the stiffest of hips on the dance floor. Toronto producers Killabits will also be taking the stage as well as support from Hydee & Grimeskee. You won't want to miss this dance-wind breeze through town.
The Mod Club (722 College Street), Doors @ 10pm $16 19+
