Saturday

COMEDY | SketchersonsTV Premiere Party
Have you always wanted to see The Sketchersons but are too lazy to go out and see them on a Sunday night? Lucky you, because they're coming into your living room! Not really, you're not getting a private show -- but they do have a TV show premiering tonight on Rogers at 11pm. If tonight's the night and you want to break the lazy cycle, you should head down to Comedy Bar and party with the cast. Or not, that's fine too. It seems to have to been workin' for ya so far.
Comedy Bar, 945 Bloor St W, Free, 9:30pm

ART | Jannet Thomas: The Broken Shape
Here's something you won't see at TIFF. Jannet Thomas' is an London artist and filmmaker who explores very experimental forms of media. From live spoken word performance art to amateur "home" videos, she has constantly been breaking barriers of what we think of as film. Tonight she'll be at Cinecycle showing some of her short films such as 4 Ways He Tried to Tell You and The Man Who Went Outside. She'll also be doing various in-person events tomorrow, so you have no excuse to go and pick her brain.
Cinecycle, 129 Spadina Ave, $8, 8pm

PARTY | DREAM///DATE
A brand new dance party in a string of awesome ones is hitting Parts & Labour tonight. DREAM///DATE will be playing anything from 80's R&B to Disco to Punk. As usual, drink specials are in effect before 11:30 so you're urged to get there early and play some table hockey. And don't worry, once all the TIFF craziness dies down, P&L will be back to normal with their huge calendar of shows.
Parts & Labour, 1566 Queen St W, $5, 10pm

Sunday

MUSIC | Anti-Flag
Remember Anti-Flag and how much you loved them in 1998? Well since then you've probably grown-up, thrown your patch-covered jeans out and moved on. This is definitely the case since their show booked for tonight recently got moved from The Mod Club to the much smaller venue Sneaky Dee's. But then again any real Anti-Flag is probably into that. The Mod Club doesn't have nearly enough graffiti.
Sneaky Dee's, 431 College St, $19, 7pm

FOOD | Make it Ontario Beef Tailgate
The temperature is dropping and the leaves are going to being to change, so that means it's football time. The Argos are playing BC at the Rogers Centre and if there's one thing I know for certain, it's how much football fans love their meat. So hit up Gate 11 before the game where Make it Ontario Beef will be hosting a tailgate party where you can sample some of the best beef in Ontario.
Rogers Centre, 1 Blue Jays Way, Free, 11:30am-1:30pm

SPORTS | Queen's Park Grand Prix
Toronto is littered with cyclists, but no matter how fancy their bikes are or shiny their reflective tape is, they'll never be as good as these guys. Pro tour cyclists Ryder Hesjedal (Ryder!! You're kidding me!), Michael Berry and Joelle Numainville will be racing the streets of Toronto. The Queen's Park Grand Pix is back again this year with Pro-Am Men, Elite Women, and Masters Races all day. I'm sure you'll notice all the streets nearby blocked off, so instead of getting pissed -- sit back and watch how fast they're going!!
Queens Park, Free, 8:30am
