Drake Heritage Minute

Historica does Drake Heritage Minute mashup

First things first, you have not read this post before. Living during peak Drake means that somehow over the course of the last two weeks, the Toronto rap star has been the subject of two projects related to everyone's favourite bit of national nostalgia, the Heritage Minute.

Hot on the heels of "Drake Heritage Moments," a spoof Twitter account that shares six second GIFs of famous/notorious moments in Drizzy history, a more official take on the Drake Heritage Minute has been put together by none other than Historica, the creator of the minute-long clips about Canadian history that still give me anxiety when I smell burnt toast.

The mashup takes Heritage Minute clips and sets them to "Started from the Bottom," which is rather hilarious if you're familiar with the series. "A part of OVO Heritage" is a clever play on the original tagline "A part of our Heritage," and if anything, now all I want to do is spend the afternoon watching mini-lessons on the Avro Arrow, Jackie Robinson's start in pro baseball, and how the current Canadian flag came to be.

Oh, and in case you like these things as much as I do, you'll be happy to know that this mashup is really just an ad for the fact that a new Heritage Minute "drops 2015."
