Etsy debuts new craft market at MaRS and OCAD

Online handmade-goods megastore Etsy is continuing its quest to bring its scores of cute handmade goods and late-night impulse buys into three-dimensional reality. First came the Canadian Craft Party event this spring, which brought a full day of craft workshops to spots across the city.

Now, Toronto will be part of a massive cross-Canadian bash that gives local Etsy sellers and crafters a way to connect (and you a way to discover that new teapot / necklace / bent-wood bicycle fender you'll totally obsess over). This Saturday, September 27, Etsy's Made In Canada event will be held in 30 cities across Canada.

In Toronto, the one-day shopping event will take over the atrium of MaRS on College St from 10am to 4pm., offering pieces from over 135 vendors; a sister event will be held at OCAD (11am-5pm) with a smaller handful of sellers. Since this is an Etsy event, you'll find everything but the kitchen sink - since it's live and in-person, however, expect a better-edited selection than your average Etsy search. To check out a selection of vendors, take a look at the Etsy site for more info.
