After permanently setting up shop inside BYOB Cocktail Emporium, Fitzroy Boutique (972 Queen St. W.) has also officially launched a new online store at shopfitzroy.com. The easy-to-navigate website offers trendy womenswear at price points no higher than $200, all for free shipping within Canada. Plus, check out the section showcasing how customers wear their pieces. Last week, the special guests of Fashion Cares 25 - a legendary event promoting HIV/AIDS awareness - were announced. The silver anniversary happening on September 9 will be hosted by none other than Elton John, and backed with performances by Janelle Monae, the Scissor Sisters, and Sky Ferreira. Canadian designers including Greta Constantine and Pink Tartan will also be showing pieces as part of an exhibit.

EVENTS/PARTIES

Gypsies, fashionistas, and flowerchildren alike will be excited to attend the grand opening of the first ever Free People boutique in Canada. The event will run on August 2nd from 6 pm to 8pm. The first 50 people to arrive will receive a Free People iPhone case, and anybody can enter a draw to win a pair of tickets to see Gotye at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. Located at 79 Yorkville Ave, the freestanding location is at the heart of the district and will offer customers the chance to win a $1000 shopping spree until the end of August.

This Friday (August 3rd) from 4 pm until 9 pm, Roots at the Eaton Centre (220 Yonge St.) is holding yet another 1. LOVE T.O. pop up shop. This time around, the "Show Your Roots" collection is celebrating 50 years of independence for both Jamaica and Trinidad. Hang out with the Toronto Raptors' Amir Johnson while you stock up on limited edition t-shirts just in time for Caribana. Find out more here.

SALES

Tonight (August 1st), head over to Dalston Grey (1317 Dundas St. W.) from 7 pm until 11 pm for a "Wet Hot American Summer Sale Party." If that event name didn't excite you enough, Fitzroy Boutique will also be selling their pieces at the event for up to 50% off. Should you need even more convincing, here are some one-word factors to get you over there: drinks, treats, tunes, fun.

For two days only (August 3rd to 4th), Outclass is holding their summer sale pop-up shop at the newly opened A.R.T. Bike Gallery (127 Ossington Ave.). Shop the spring/summer 2012 collection in all its seersucker and 14 oz. raw denim glory at up to 50% off - while being surrounded by the gallery's just-as-exclusive vintage bike parts.
