World Religions Discovery Week

"We danced with the Hare Krishnas, shared wine with the witches in respect for our nature, listened to a Rabbi in the oldest synagogue in Toronto; we listened to a Grandmother in a native lodge, experienced Zen, met the Rastafari under a teapot, read the Byzantine icons, were reminded of the smell of peace in the candles of the Catholic cathedral, ate with the Sikhs, were awakened to new ideas and ways of seeing old things, said mid-day prayers with the Muslims and much more."

Join Encounter World Religions for a unique exploration of the tradition, architecture, music, and food which form the rich tapestry of Toronto’s diverse religious communities. Discovery Week participants experience more than a dozen site visits exploring all the world’s major religions, conversations with religious leaders, and engaging classes which provide context. The program is taught from a non-sectarian perspective and is welcoming to all.

July 17-23, 2022

Our classes are hosted at the Multi-Faith Centre at the University of Toronto and our site visits take us across the city.

Registration includes all classes, site visits, meals and transportation during the week.
