Comedy Nuggets brings you a professional line up of women comedians seen on JUST FOR LAUGHS, COMEDY NETWORK, ABSOLUTE COMEDY, YUK YUKS, HALIFAX COMEDY FESTIVAL +MORE.

Live from The Danforth. The show is at The Social Capital Theatre (154 Danforth Ave.).

Here is a little about each of the performers in the show.

SARAH ASHBY

What do you get when you put Regina George’s mean spirit into Garth from Wayne’s World’s body? Why you get Sarah Ashby! This 5 time Roast Battle Champion has been performing all around Southern Ontario and has appeared in multiple festivals including the Brantford Comedy Festival, the 420 Comedy Festival and the United Comedy Festival. This cohost and coproducer of Comedy Mixtape, a musical comedy show that runs at Comedy Bar, also performs in Drag as Nik Sparxxx! JIALU WANG

Jialu is a recent engineering graduate who used to want to go to grad school but now just wants to tell jokes for the rest of her life. She’s a fairly new comic who started doing stand-up in August 2017, a month before she turned 20. In the short time she’s been doing stand-up, Jialu has performed on various stages and shows across the city such as Yas Kween, So Fresh n So Clean, and SHADE. She also recently started producing and hosting her own stand-up show called What Are You Doing After You Graduate?: A Comedy Show. which sold out its first two shows in Toronto and Kingston. Just last year, Jialu performed at the Chicago Women's Funny Festival. Honestly, she’s just trying her best.

JIN LEE

Jin is a new queer Asian comedian who is a proud member of the Queer and Present Danger Collective. She was featured in QAPD's Up+Comers 10, a showcase for queer rising talent. She has performed for Yas Kween, New Normal Comedy, Working Women, and the Merry Janes of Comedy. When she's not doing stand-up comedy, Jin goes to the gym three times a week... or at least she pretends to.

RACHELLE LAUZON

Rachelle began her comedy career just three years ago in Toronto where she quickly became one of the fastest rising newcomers in the city. In addition to touring western Canada, she has made several festival appearances including Just for Laughs Toronto where she had the pleasure of opening for Morgan Murphy, The Blue Whale Comedy Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Oddblock Comedy Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and NXNE. Rachelle can be heard on SiriusXM Canada Laughs and has twice been nominated for the Toronto "I heart Jokes Awards" (best New-comer and Breakout comic of the year).

SANDRA BATTAGLINI

Sandra is an award winning stand-up comic, actor and writer. She is a two time Canadian Comedy Award winner for her solo show shows, Classy Lady and Hard Headed Woman. She tours the country and appears in NBC Seeso's web series, The Amazing Gayle Pile, CBS's In the Dark, Netflix's In the Shadow of the Moon and Crave TV's New Eden. She was a semi-finalist in the She Devil Comedy Competition in NYC and has performed at Just for Laughs in Montreal and premiered her 7th solo show Baby Jeez and other Abreevs at in Toronto at JFL42, directed by Phil Luzi. She spearheaded a grassroots movement to have stand-up comedy recognized as an art form and started the Canadian Association of Stand-up Comedians that lobbies for comedian's rights. She is the subject of an upcoming documentary called Mayor of Comedy that chronicles the movement set to release this fall.

Doors open at 7:30 pm, show starts at 8:00 pm.

Tickets: $15 online, $20 at the door.

What are the parking options near The Social Capital?

There is street parking along Danforth Avenue, as well as a Green P parking lot located one block north. To access the Green P parking lot, drive north on Broadview Avenue to Erindale, then turn right.

Accessibility Info: on 3rd Floor - one small step at entry, 12-15 narrow steps to second floor/bar, 10-12 more narrow steps to third floor; third floor bathrooms are not accessible.
