Transforming Lives through Rescue

Having toured across Canada this year, the Don't You Want Me Project's heartwarming and powerful photography and storytelling exhibit will be having an opening event and panel discussion at When Hounds Fly hosted by Toronto Dog Moms on 1 October from 2-5.30pm. Meet the co-founder of the project, browse the exhibit, chat with the Toronto Humane Society, get training advice from When Hounds Fly and other experts (tbc). There will be mocktails, nibbles, a silent auction, local vendors selling pet accessories and products and a chance to win a free doggo photoshoot with the award winning Doggy Dates Toronto! All proceeds from the event will go towards the DYWM Support Fund to help Aurora, a young trans woman refugee with the costs involved in taking care of her rescue dog Twiney.

What is the The Don't You Want Me Project?

Don’t You Want Me is a social impact photography project that shows the bond between queer and trans people and their rescue dogs, cultivating empathy, understanding and admiration through photos and storytelling. The exhibit has received a huge amount of media coverage during its recent Canadian tour. It's a feel good project that shows how rescue dogs can transform people's lives.

This is a free event but you do need to register via eventbrite
