Toronto Film Society presents Miracle in Milan

Director Vittorio De Sica's unique blend of post-war Italian neorealism and children's fantasy still weaves a magical spell over 70 years later. Set in the outskirts of Milan, a young boy - with some divine help - helps a band of vagabonds after greedy owners of the land on which they're living attempt to displace them after discovering oil. A touching and whimsical tale, the film's central conflict between everyday people and wealthy landowners resonates to this day.
