Toronto Celebrates World Lindy Hop Day 2022!
After two years of not social dancing, Toronto Lindy Hop (TLH) is hosting our first in-person event of the year! Join us on Saturday, May 28, 2022 as we celebrate World Lindy Hop Day together at Cecil Community Centre (58 Cecil St.). Tickets are $40 online, $45 at the door.
All tickets include:
- One beginner swing dance lesson (no partner needed)
- Live 14-piece Big Band (Martin Loomer’s Orange Devils)
- DJ’d swing music band breaks
- Dress to impress (not mandatory)
- Cash bar (credit card accepted)
Step into a bygone era of the 1930s/40s and enjoy an enchanting night of music by Martin Loomer’s 14-piece swing band orchestra! Featuring music by Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, Jimmie Lunceford, Benny Carter, Count Basie, and many more. This is one of the best bands in town for swing dancers, Lindy Hoppers, and jazz enthusiasts alike.

Masking and proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required at this event. Please read the full Health and Safety Policy for more information.
Each year, TLH has hosted a celebration promoting the spirit of Frankie Manning, Ambassador of Lindy Hop (the swing dance of the 1930s/40s and today). Festivities fall on or around Frankie’s birthday: May 26. The last few years we have shifted our focus only slightly to also encompass World Lindy Hop Day, which is also on May 26, to celebrate everyone who is keeping what Frankie and the other originators of swing help create, alive today! WLHD is also a fundraiser for TLH, a non-profit-organization, to ensure that we can keep hosting community events just like this one.
