In this hilarious comedy, we find ourselves in the home of the Westerbys, an upper-middle-class family in 1970s England. The usual intergenerational family stresses are exacerbated by the organizing and preparation of their daughter’s society wedding.

Timothy Westerby, the father of the bride and a harried advertising executive, is under pressure to produce an original marketing campaign for a bra company. He has what he considers a brilliant marketing idea: a 1920s “Flapper Girl”. He has just introduced the cardboard cut-out model of the “Flapper Girl” to his family, when the stress and his pill-taking habits lead to life taking off in a whole new direction.
