The Word On The Street Annual Festival

The 34th Annual Word On The Street Festival returns to Queen’s Park on May 27th & 28th! Hosted annually since 1990 in downtown Toronto, WOTS is a free community street festival that celebrates the stories that connect us.

Featuring Canadian and Indigenous authors, an outdoor marketplace for books and magazines, and dedicated children’s programming, WOTS was voted one of the city’s Best Local Events in the 2022 Toronto Star Readers Choice Awards.

The exhibitor marketplace will feature publishers, bookstores, magazines, independent authors, literacy organizations, writers’ groups, and food vendors. Programming will take place throughout the site across multiple stages, including author readings, panels, family-friendly activities, and three new genre-focused streams.

With 150+ authors and exhibitors, and welcoming tens of thousands of visitors each year, The Word On The Street is Canada’s largest open-air book festival. For the complete schedule and information on our year-round programming, visit toronto.thewordonthestreet.ca or follow us @torontoWOTS!
