The Black Fish Project

The Black Fish Project is a cross-genre creation by Iranian composer, Keyan Emami, composed for string quartet, clarinet, double bass, percussion, and electronics. It draws inspiration from the iconic Persian children’s story, The Little Black Fish, which tells the story of a little black fish who wants to know what lies on the other side of his pond. The music fuses western classical music with jazz and Arabic maqam music, combined with fleeting Persian modal music.
