// Tavis Weir Music

Tavis Weir is a Canadian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who currently creates in and explores the interior of British Columbia. Tavis performance has been described as authentic, honest and he has been known to take risks on stage; not afraid to depart from the scripted. He recently independently released his debut full length album Those Who Go Alone on which he overlaid all the instruments, like some mad scientist in his home studio/laboratory, before it ripened to full fruition through Corwin Foxs masterful mixing.

Tavis original music features effortless vocal melodies held up by an intricate web of fingerpicking guitar or the rhythms of clawhammer banjo. He has been likened to Paul Simon, Sting, Jos Gonzlez. After studying Jazz at the University of Toronto, Tavis has performed often at the renowned Dream Caf, toured with Juno Award winner Oscar Lopez and shared stages with the likes of Shane Koyczan and Ben Waters and continues to push his musical boundaries, solo, or with his bands The Screendoors and Slow Motion National Park.

Lucas Penner is a prolific songwriter. He lives on Queen Street West with mountains in his heart - recording in a closet. He's narrowing 30 songs down to 10. He's reinventing himself as a solo artist after a stint of composing and music directing for theatre. He is an actor from the George Brown Theatre School.

Lucas' music is vulnerable and fierce, wavering from soft declarations of love, to tantrum-like tirades from the rejected and cynical, and euphoric moments of peace, bliss and acceptance. He sounds like Kurt Weill and the Pixies had a swinging love affair with Cole Porter and gave the child to Fiona Apple and Jeff Buckley to raise, while Chris Isaak, Sarah McLachlan and Elliott Smith sang in the living room. Lucas is also the Artistic Director of the Dead and Lovely Collective which does new, dark pop/post punk musicals and is developing a show called Circles.
