Release Party for Prefix Photo 38

Prefix ICA is pleased to celebrate the release of the thirty-eighth issue of Prefix Photo, on the subject of “The Canadian Vernacular.” This issue of the magazine features writer and curator Suzanne Morrissette on the ways in which Indigenous artists are challenging Western perceptions of Indigenous political knowledge, artist Michael Snow on his relationship with Newfoundland, and author Ray Cronin on Ned Pratt’s Newfoundland landscapes. It also includes portfolios by Jason Brown, Eamon Mac Mahon, Birthe Piontek, Tek and Jin-me Yoon; and book reviews by Alex Borkowski, Jill Glessing, Lindsay LeBlanc and Rebecca Travis.

In conjunction with the release of the magazine, Prefix ICA is pleased to host the closing reception for “On Being Illiberal,” a group exhibition featuring the works of Carl Beam, Merritt Johnson and Fallon Simard, curated by Suzanne Morrissette.
