POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE

Meryl Streep and Shirley Maclaine star in Mike Nichols' deeply funny and heartfelt comedy POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE (1990). Loosely based on Carrie Fisher's memoir, Streep plays a substance-addicted actress who is forced to move in with Maclaine- her screen legend of a mother. Nichols and Fisher- who also wrote the screenplay- explore all that is maddening, all that is hilarious, and all that is eternal in the mother and daughter bond.

THE PARADISE PRESENTS: Mothers & Daughters- Eight films that celebrate the puzzling and profound bonds of matriarchy. Laugh and cry with us this Mother’s Day at the Paradise as we honour the women who gave us life and the girls who gave them grief…
