OKAN & Special Guests

Opening set by Danae Olano

Tickets: $40

JUNO-Award winning OKAN fuses their Afro-Cuban roots with jazz, folk, and global rhythms in songs about immigration, courage, and love. Led by Elizabeth Rodriguez and Magdelys Savigne, the group enthusiastically embraces Cuban genres and musical roles that have historically been dominated by men and create a distinctive and personal world jazz fusion. They’ll be joined by special guests for a memorable evening.

Opening for OKAN is Danae Olano, two time Juno award winner. Olano, originally from Cuba, now residing in Toronto, is a pianist, composer and arranger heavily influenced by the legacies of great Cuban pianists, jazz masters, classical music, Brazilian rhythms and her Afro-Cuban roots.

Presented by Small World Music, in partnership with Lula Music and Arts Centre, as a part of 25 for 25 - Small World Music's 25th Anniversary
