Nite Comfort 46 - N A V I, PEACE : WILL AUSTIN

This episode of Nite Comfort contemplates congnitive dissonance, as we navigate the signals reaching us and our reactions to them.

N A V I - 10pm

N A V I is a Toronto based group that performs with a combination of acoustic and electronic instrumentation. Their sonic explorations, range from drifting spatial compositions to intimate piano and guitar based song writing. Presented are imagined film scores, influenced by modern classical, drone, lynchian jazz, and doom metal – all reinforced with sub bass culled from futuristic dubwise influences. Compositions of acoustic instrumentation are augmented through an electronic lens that serves to

enhance the sense of space and mood, producing a dense, layered, cinematic journey. Dissonant droning soundscapes are juxtaposed with moments of warmth and intimacy creating a sense

of longing through isolation; dusty samples shift and fade within the auditory view, decaying memories clouded by time and circumstance. Described as “Wall rattling chamber music from hell.” by a disenchanted neighbour, it is a dystopic future swathed in the fading gauze of an abandoned past.

Their new EP “Gemini” was released at the end of 2016 and their debut album “Derelict_528 (The Jupiter Project)” was released independently in 2015.
