Nick Maandag: Harvey Knight's Odyssey

Join us for a talk and signing with cartoonist Nick Maandag to celebrate the release of his newest book, Harvey Knight’s Odyssey. Comics artist Hartley Lin will interview Maandag about his work and inspiration.

Harvey Knight’s Odyssey is a darkly humorous story of the battle between the light-worshipping Solarists and the Forces of Dark. Solarist Harvey Knight may be trying to restore order to the Universe. Or, maybe he’s just trying to overthrow the Solarist’s leader and take their place.

Following the interview, Nick Maandag will do a live Q&A and book signing. Books will be available for sale by The Beguiling at the event.

This free event will be held on the lower level of the Lillian H. Smith Branch in the Auditorium. Hosted by the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation & Fantasy.

Doors will open at 6:15pm and the event will start at 6:30pm. No registration is required. Everyone is welcome.

Toronto-based cartoonist Nick Maandag's work is known for its dry humour. He has published several single-issue comics and released his first full length book, The Follies of Richard Wadsworth, in 2019. He has received nominations for the Doug Wright and Joe Shuster awards.
