Come on an adventure with Thomas and see the world through his eyes this March Break,discovering new friends, cultures and animals.The Special Events Centre has transformed into Tidmouth Sheds bringing with it fun for children and parents. Throughout the week, guests can pick up a Thomas & Friends™ branded Passport from the Special Events Centre, taking them on a scavenger-hunt journey through 6 different regions across the zoo, looking for Thomas’ newly made friends. Find all his friends, learn about the regions, the animals and complete each location. After you’ve finished, head back to Tidmouth Sheds (Special Events Centre) for more Thomas & Friends fun like colouring sheets, live animal visitors and a live screening area featuring the latest season of Thomas & Friends™.

During March 16th & 17th only, as an extension of the scavenger-hunt, check out the awesome Thomas playzone. Sir Topham Hatt himself will even be making an appearance! And make sure to get there early, the first 2,000 children will be getting a free Thomas & Friends mini engine! Hop onboard this March Break and get to know Thomas & Friends™! Other fun March Break Activities at the Toronto Zoo:

 
School may be closed for winter break but the Toronto Zoo is open and ready for some exciting March Break fun! Not only is Thomas & Friends™ here all week but there are also our daily keeper talks, indoor Orchid Oasis, animal babies and the Wildlife Health Centre Viewing Gallery. It’s going to be a full week of fun so don’t miss it. Plus we have extended Zoo hours over March Break 9:30am to 6pm with last admission at 5pm.

Keeper Talks:
Our daily talks include lions, cheetah, polar bears, giraffes and more! Full schedule can be found at www.torontozoo.com/ExploreTheZoo/MeettheKeeper/

Carnivore Enrichment Feedings:
Held every Saturday and Sunday guests can watch as our carnivores of the animal kingdom react to receiving a meaty bone as a treat.  Whether they consume all edible parts, chew on the bones or tear through the skin, the enrichment provides the animals the opportunity to follow their carnivore hunting and feeding behaviours which include smelling, licking, clawing, chewing. Daily Wildlife Health Centre:
Guests may get the chance to witness a procedure when visiting the Wildlife Health Centre Viewing Gallery from 10am to 4pm daily. It’s a fantastic way to catch a glimpse into the important work we do behind-the-scenes. This facility was specially designed to tend to every need of the animals that call the Toronto Zoo home, while also providing the public increased visibility of the work that our Wildlife Health Care team completes every day.

Greenhouse Orchid Oasis:
The Zoo’s Horticulturists have hand-picked a variety of orchid species to showcase in our Greenhouse just outside the Wildlife Health Centre. Guests can drop by from Saturday, March 9 to Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 10am to 4pm to take in the beautiful exotic flowers.  

Parent & Tot Pop Ups:
Throughout March Break we invite you to stop by one of our Parent & Tot pop up stations.  Enjoy some playtime and explore a sampling of what our Parent & Tot programs have to offer.  Activities will be taking place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm daily March 9th – 17th.  Experience a different themed pop up each day in a new location around the Zoo.  Ages 18 months – 4 years.

Saturday March 9th – Find us in the Canopy Classroom near the Indo-Malaya Pavilion
Sunday March 10th – Find us in the Lion’s Kopje in Africa Savanna
Monday March 11th   - Find us in the Caves of the Africa Pavilion by the bats/naked mole rats
Tuesday March  12th     - Find us in the Research Station in Tundra Trek by the polar bears
Wednesday March 13th   - Find us in the Indo-Malaya Pavilion near the Orangutan Exhibit
Thursday March 14th - Find us by the Amur Tigers in Eurasia
Friday March  15th - Find us by the Great Barrier Reef in the Australasia Pavilion
Saturday March 16th   - Find us in the Americas Pavilion by the river otter exhibit
Sunday March 17th - Find us in the Africa Pavilion next to the Lake Malawi aquarium
