iAM: An Exhibition on Reconciliation Opening Party

On November 3rd, JAYU will premiere iAM: An Exhibition on Reconciliation at the Daniel Spectrum building with a reception and special party from 6:30 PM- 11:00 PM. Since 2015, the program has provided photography and storytelling workshops to youth from underserved communities across Toronto.

This year, we worked in partnership with over 20 artists and the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto to provide the program to nine Indigenous youth.

Recognizing Canada’s complicated legacy with the Indigenous community, the gallery uses their photos and recorded stories to help us understand their perspective on reconciliation. All pictures will be sold both at the event and online, with 100% of the profits going back to the youth.

This exhibition will be open at the Daniels Spectrum building until early January. This is an initiative presented by JAYU, a Toronto-based non-profit charity that shares human rights stories through the arts and engaging dialogue."
