Hitler's Hollywood

Director Rüdiger Suchsland takes a startling look at Hitler’s Germany through the lens of its greatest propaganda device, the cinema. Between 1933-1945, under the watchful eye of chief propagandist Joseph Goebells, the Third Reich produced over 1000 features—musicals, melodramas, costume dramas—that grew even more lavish as the horrors behind the camera escalated. Featuring extensive footage from key films of the period narrated by actor Udo Kier, Hitler’s Hollywood shows us how the Nazi regime spread their myths, illusions and ideologies through the movie screens and into the minds of millions.
