Get Reel Film Festival by Stella's Place
The Get Reel Film Festival by Stella's Place explores experiences of mental health through the art of film. By sharing real and honest portrayals of mental health, it aims to spark conversation, educate our community, promote healing and help-seeking, and celebrate artistic talent.
This is Get Reel's third year, and it promises to be the festival's most compelling yet. Highlights from the lineup include a deeply relatable comedy about insomnia, an animation about a Canadian immigrant's relationship with her cultural identity, and a drama about a woman separated from her family and struggling with PTSD after fleeing the war in Ukraine.
Other films in the program delve into topics including mindfulness and meditation, climate anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief, gender identity, and the impacts of anti-Black racism on mental health.
The Festival runs from June 5-8th at TIFF Bell Lightbox, Stella's Place, HotDocs and online.
