🌟🌟🌟Lady Son🌟🌟🌟

One of the most arresting voices on the Canadian music scene, often drawing comparisons the legendary Celia Cruz and Cesaria Evora, Lady Son (aka Yeti Yetunde Ajasin), brings a powerful yet subtle contemporary voice to the rich vocal and percussion traditions of Afro-Cuban music. Her 2009 debut album, “Semillas”, received the New Music Award for Best World Album. She working on a second album that layers a broader range of musical and cultural styles based in the African Diaspora with her commanding vocals, potent percussion and supremely skilled backing band.

Yeti has studied percussion extensively, having built on education in jazz performance focused on kit drum and training by the master conga player Hector Mon (A.K.A. Piccolino) with various workshops in Latin percussion at the Jose Maria Ochoa School of Music and Performing Arts, both in Cuba.

She has shared the stage with the likes of Oscar D’Leon, Los Van Van, Alfredo de La Fe, Jesus "El Nino" Rivera, Ricardo Lemvo of Maquina Loca, Voo doo Souljahs, and Toto Berriel of Los Munequitos De Matanzas, as well as opened for Pupy y Los Que Son Son.
