Emma Ducharme: Arbitrary Dreams of Spiritual Remediation

Emma Ducharme’s sculptural works seek inspiration in the form of the escape; from the city, from the noise, from the ever-pressing demand for quantifiable and monetary success. Utilizing second-hand materials, Ducharme’s work is a critique of our constant capitalistic overconsumption. By generating aesthetically-driven, materially-conscious dimensional abstractions, the work invites us to reflect on what it means to make imperfect objects in an era where obsessive perfectionism is the consumer standard.
