Canada Day at Fort York
Celebrate Canada Day at Fort York National Historic Site, the birthplace of modern Toronto!
Join us for a celebration that will be packed with family-friendly activities, demonstrations, tours and performances. In addition to flag raising and flag lowering ceremonies, the Fort York Guard will perform demonstrations of musketry, artillery, and 19th century military music. Children can enjoy a drill activity, music classes, a scavenger hunt, and hula-hooping!
Our Volunteer Historic Cooks will demonstrate 19th century cooking methods and share samples in the historic 1826 kitchen. In honour of #Canada150, The Fort York Historic Foodways program will feature recipes from the Confederation era!
There will also be a talk on Toronto in 1867 by Richard Fiennes-Clinton.
