Calamity, a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary
Film director: Rémi Chayé
1863, United States of America. In a convoy headed West with the desire for a better life, Martha Jane’s father is injured. She needs to drive the family wagon and take care of the horses. The learning curve is steep, yet Martha Jane has never felt freer. Since it’s more convenient for riding horses, she puts on pants. The audacity is too much for Abraham, the leader of the convoy. Accused of stealing, Martha is forced to flee. Dressed as a boy and looking to prove her innocence, she discovers a world under construction where her unique personality asserts itself. An adventure full of danger and rich in encounters which, step by step, reveals the mythical Calamity Jane.
