Don’t miss a riveting evening of music by three generations of Canadian composers on September 14, 2024, at 4:00pm at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church in Toronto. Arcady is thrilled to bring you ‘Bridging the Eras’ in this beautiful and historic venue. This concert will honour composers such as Walter MacNutt, Godfrey Ridout, and Healey Willan who have left rich musical legacies for the following generation of Canadian musicians. Alongside these gems of Canadian artistry, Arcady will perform brand-new works by emerging and celebrated contemporary composers. These new pieces include “O Lights of the Sky” by Aislinn Nowelle, “Twilight Serenade” by Benjamin Gabbay, and “Awakenings” by Emma Theresa Verdonk. This event will be the concert of the Inaugural Walter MacNutt Prize, of which Ronald Beckett, Arcady’s artistic director, is the winner.
