2012 A Rap Odyssey with Boosie Fade

2012. It was a simpler time. 45 was merely an ex-reality TV star. Instagram barely had a cultural footprint. Our chief existential concern was whether the Mayan calendar's prediction would come true and the world would end...so I guess it wasn't all roses....but at least the music was fire.

In fact, it was super fire. Danny Brown dropped XXX. ASAP Rocky's LiveLoveASAP was fresh. Nicki Minaj's "Monster" verse was still a part of our collective DNA. Kendrick took over the world with Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. Meek Mill's generation-defining "Dreams and Nightmares" intro dropped. Future took us to Pluto.

Well, the boys of Boosie Fade (DJ Yung Adult and Jordan Sowunmi) want to transport you back to that simpler time, in the sweet confines of Handlebar on Saturday, August 18th. Join us to hear what we were bumping in 2012 (note: we're playing tunes from 2010-2013, with a special emphasis on 2012), like:

Danny Brown's "Blunt After Blunt" / Solange's "Losing You" / Miguel's "Adorn" / Future's "Turn on the Lights," "Tony Montana," / Chief Keef's "3Hunna," & "Love Sosa" / Kendrick Lamar's "Backseat Freestyle" & "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" / Juicy J's "Bandz A Make Her Dance" / Nicki Minaj's "Beez in the Trap"

and many more. Requests WELCOMED. Post 'em on the wall below.

$5 all night

Boosie Fade is committed to running a safe and fun event space. White and NBPOC folks are encouraged to never sing along to n-word. Just omit it. If we catch you doing it, you'll be asked to leave. Anyone who harasses another attendee (with persistent unwanted attention or invasion of personal space and desires, etc.) will be removed from the event. If you witness any of these incidents (or other troublesome activities), contact Jordan or James.
