Overrated Restaurant Toronto

What are the most overrated restaurants in Toronto?

Asking what are the most overrated restaurants in Toronto is sure to incite disagreement once a list of contenders is formed. And yet surely there are places across the city that are somehow graced with a reputation that's no longer deserved or that have been hype-machines from day one. I suspect that when it comes to restaurants much of the overrated-factor comes from long line-ups or the difficulty one encounters in securing a table. With such hassles come expectations, so if the food or service doesn't deliver, the overrated characterizations are soon to follow.

Being classified as overrated isn't a particularly bad thing, though. After all, a lot of people have to be doing the "over-rating" for such a tag to stick, if indeed it ever does. And by the very nature of the term, more people than not must think what you're doing is pretty good. The flip side, however, is that if enough people think a place is overrated, it might not even be referred to with this label, instead falling into the categories of "overpriced" and "downright crappy."

Here's some preliminary nominations for overrated Toronto restaurants from our Twitter followers. The early leaders would appear to be Terroni, Sassafraz, and Canoe. Feel free to add more in the comments section or to take issue with those that have already been called out.
