Uber planning to use bike couriers in Toronto

Uber Canada may be locked in a battle with Toronto City Hall and our city's taxi industry, but that's not stopping it from expanding on our local streets. It launched its UberEats platform here last year and it's now looking to recruit bike couriers, as the Toronto Star reports.

While the American company has yet to confirm whether or not it's bringing its UberRush delivery service here, it's currently recruiting so-called delivery partners via its website that promotes both UberRush and UberEats.

UberRush is already in Chicago and New York City. It's a courier service that works with businesses to fulfil customers' orders faster.

According to the Star, Uber Canada has been placing ads on downtown bike racks to encourage cyclists to sign up to be couriers.
