TTC text bus

Texting TTC bus drivers will actually be fired

The three TTC drivers caught texting while driving last week have been fired. Rumours also allege that at least one of the drivers has changed his BBM status to ":("

According to reports in the Toronto Star and Toronto Sun, the drivers, who were captured in photographs showing them texting while operating TTC vehicles, will be dismissed from their jobs. The TTC launched an investigation after the photos surfaced last week and has since refused to comment on the status of the investigation. Unidentified sources have confirmed the dismissals to the Star and Sun.

Since texting while driving is--you know--illegal (nevermind against TTC policy) it should come as no surprise that these individuals are being let go. So why do I find myself slightly amazed that the TTC is actually following through with disciplinary action?
