Whiff Waff
Whiff Waff is a sports bar and restaurant in Richmond Hill. Inside the gigantic space are rows of pristine ITTF standard ping pong tables that can be rented by the hour ($28).

The Fried Tofu Lettuce Wraps ($12) are a good place to start. Sauteed mushrooms, bean sprouts, and fried tofu are seasoned liberally with sweet soy sauce and served with crisp lettuce leaves.
The Pork Gyoza ($8) is good but a bit run-of-the-mill, so order the Thai Curry Veggie Gyoza ($7) instead. There's a nice curry hit in every bite. Don’t forget to dip them into the house-made spicy garlic and ginger sauce.
The Five Spice Duck Taco ($15) is inspired by the legendary Peking Duck dish. It’s a flour tortilla filled with lean duck breast, hoisin sauce, green onions and carrots.
The Bulgogi Beef Taco ($13) can have its taco shell upgraded to a green onion pancake (+$2) but the flavour and thickness of the pancake ends up detracting from the bulgogi itself. I wish these pancakes were available to order on their own as they'd shine better as a separate dish.
The Togarashi Dusted Wings ($14) are perfectly fried, with a nice dusting of togarashi spice, but they're too subtly flavoured and need a good dunking in the delicious spicy wasabi sauce to deliver the kick I look for.
If there's a must-order on the menu, it's the Kalbi Short Rib Poutine ($11). The meat is tender and flavourful, and mixing it up with cheese curds, pickled daikon, and cilantro is a stroke of genius.
To drink, get the Cucumber Watermelon Sojito ($11), a refreshing light soju-based cocktail with cucumber and watermelon syrup, lime juice, and mint.
The Violet Kiss ($13) is a mix of lychee liqueur, vodka, and crème de violette. Some egg whites give the drink its foamy look and rich flavour.
Close it all off with the Apple Pie Egg Rolls ($6). Fried egg rolls are stuffed with apple pie filling, dusted with cinnamon sugar, and served with a generous helping of vanilla ice cream.
Or, the Green Tea Crème Brulee ($6) will hit the spot with its perfectly caramelized top and side serving of sake-macerated berries with whipped cream.
