Industry: Photography by Mat Merrett

Better known in the blogosphere as Photomat, Toronto photographer, Mathew Merrett is one of several talented 416 photobloggers exploring themes of urban decay.

This year, he's sharing his work as part of the Contact Photography Festival with an exhibit entitled, Industry.

The collection features over thirty new works (ranging in size, up to 40"x60"!) that explore the faded and crumbling industrial structures that border our Great Lakes.

Locations range from familiar locations like the Don Valley Brickworks and Hearn Power Plant to less accessible sites such as Bethlemen Steel and Spaulding Fibre. For an extensive digital preview, visit photomat.ca

Opening night is tomorrow, April 28th, from 6-9pm at the Pentimento Fine Art Gallery (1164 Queen St. East at Jones).

The exhibit will run until May 28th.
