A Closer Look: Drawn at Pixel Gallery

Posted by Tim / December 4, 2007

Last month Pixel Gallery opened its doors at 156 Augusta Avenue. They're in a space next to The Boat which they share with Function 13 (more on them later), The Rich Media Institute, FITC and Element 156. Their first exhibit in this space is called the Touch Show and it totally blew me away.

Later, I went back with my video camera and asked David Girolami, Managing Director of the gallery, to show me a couple of my favourite installations. The first video (M4V, MOV, RSS, iTunes), below, demonstrates one called Drawn by Zach Lieberman. It had everyone transfixed at the opening night party.

Keep reading (below) for an extra video of the LASER Tag installation by the Graffiti Research Lab, remixed by Pixel.

Ha, video makes for great art reviews.

Even before seeing the show, <a href="http://serialconsign.com/node/151";>I had a feeling</a> that my favourite piece would <a href="http://csugrue.com/";>Chris Sugrue's</a> Delicate Boundaries. The (fun) interactive project just <a href="http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com/archives/009842.php";>won</a> an honourary mention in the VIDA competition.

I liked Delicate Boundaries but Drawn was definitely my favourite of the bunch.
