FW Poll #4: Is Toronto Fashion Week Too Exclusive?
Try to grab a seat at any of the runway shows at LG Fashion Week and you quickly realize that they're all reserved - mostly for the media, sponsors and fashion industry insiders. Sure, tickets can be purchased to some of the shows, but the best ones are BIO (by invitation only) and the evening ones are pretty much standing room only for average Joe Fresh Public.
Which brings me to our second last poll. As accessible as Toronto Fashion Week pretends to be, is it just too damn exclusive?

FW Poll #3: Does Joe Fresh Belong at Fashion Week?
There's no denying that Joe Mimran, head honcho at Joe Fresh, can do whatever the hell he likes when it comes to fashion in this city. And the fact he's the chair of the FDCC means he can also book prime spots on a Wednesday night for he and his wife to takeover the runway.
But, seriously, as important as it is to promote affordable fashion options right now, there are many who question whether Toronto Fashion Week is an appropriate venue for a brand sold in Loblaws. Just ask Toronto Star fashion scribe Derick Chetty who spent the entire show tonight staring at his crackberry.
The question needs to be asked - Does Joe Fresh belong at Fashion Week?

This year Fashion Week has a new title sponsor - LG! Best know for their mobile phones, LG seems to be equally trying to impress visitors to the tent this year with their lineup of washer and dryers. Appliances? Not really sexy, but, hey, I get the connection between wearing clothes and needed to wash the sweat and dirt out.
I'm not sure I can say the same for all the sponsors responsible for making Fashion Week financially feasible this year. Vote below in our second poll and let us know which sponsors just doesn't seem like they're in the right place.

The polarizing figure that is Robin Kay is back for another Fashion Week. After her widely reported drunkfest in September, there was much speculation she wouldn't be asked to return by the Board. But Kay remains, and in the opinion of many, deserved another shot given she's more than capable (when sober rested) and basically built Toronto Fashion Week out of nothing.
But will Kay be on her best behaviour for the next six days? Or will a hectic schedule, the pressure of a new title sponsor and a revolving door of cocktail parties get the best of her? Vote below in the first of our daily Fashion Week polls.
