Fashion Week Finale
The official after party for LG Fashion Week was at Muzik, though, a series of bad vibes and verbal thumbs-down expressions from most people I spoke to throughout the week didn't exactly make me want to go. So I skipped it and checked out the Burroughes Building instead. With a harsh cover of $25 bucks, (why so much?) this was a party that clearly meant the only people there were guest-listed. The scene was quieter than expected. There were people but it wasn't a mad house. A nice party with good music, (though not sure on the sound setup...) Fritz Helder opened followed by Tuxedo Mask and Parallels, two acts I didn't know much about but enjoyed.

In Photos: Philip Sparks Fall 2009
Philip Sparks (interview here) showed his fall 2009 - 2010 collection in the historic Burroughes Building. It was the perfect indoor setting to capture the mood of Peter and the Wolf-Canadian style; the inspiration to this season. The rich wood floor and exposed brick projected an air of history. I've been following the fall 2009 collection since the look book made waves across the menswear blogs in early February. The runway show definitely delivered its promise.
Philip delivered his signature suiting, flannel lined denim, crisp dress shirts, jodhpurs, fisherman inspired outwear and curling sweaters. He explored new fabrics like the paper cotton and luxury flannel. His Fisherman's coat is made from reissue vintage fabrics from Italy. It also comes in a wool version.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at automatt.net.Might Nellie make an appearance?
