At the end of each runway show at LG Fashion Week we've tried to head backstage to snag some coveted interviews with the designers. Hey, we're not Fashion Televison, so we usually need to wait our turn (if you know what I mean), but when all is said and done, all of the designers have been gracious enough to give us a little soundbite.

In between shows yesterday, we wandered around the tents and talked to the staff and volunteers who are so integral in making Toronto Fashion Week happen. Here are brief profiles of some of them:

Derick Chetty has had a busy Fashion Week. As Fashion Reporter of the Toronto Star, he's had front row seats to every runway show and an up close look at the latest Fall and Winter fashions. But as anyone who's been at the shows can tell you, Chetty seems to spend more time staring at his Blackberry than what's coming down the runway.

Yesterday, we cornered him on camera to ask him what's up with his obsession with Twitter. Here's the video:



Oh, and for those keeping score, Chetty has 198 followers on his Twitter at the time of this post.

In part two of our visit with Evan Biddell in his studio, we ask him about the state of the Canadian fashion industry and its unofficial leader Joe Mimran (of Joe Fresh and formerly Club Monaco)

This morning we caught up with former Project Runway winner Evan Biddell at his studio (near the Drake) to get a feel from him about tonight's runway show (7pm). Here's a brief snippet of what he had to say:

There were plenty of familiar faces walking down the runway at Tuesday night's Heart Truth fashion show (photos here) We were there with a video camera and also caught up back stage with 11 of the fabulous women who participated.
