NADA, for the Dark, Mysterious and Sexy Type

NADA was definitely one of my favourite collections this season. Designer Nada Shepherd was able to marry excellent construction with an artist's eye, creating a series of looks that was exciting, but also wearable.

The first look even drew a burst of applause from the crowd, which was the first time I'd seen that happen this season. (Wondering what caused it? Think a woven leather minidress with a sheer black top, worn over striking lace tights.)

Joe Fresh Feels Like Spring at Toronto Fashion Week

Joe Fresh was the usual madhouse this season, with attendees jostling for a seat and snatching up their pink seating cards with all the gusto of Charlie finding the golden ticket.

The palette of this collection was very, very spring: it was all white, pale pink, tans, and pale yellow. Since it was Joe Fresh, the clothes were very casual and cute, with pinafore frocks, simple cotton blazers, short-shorts, gingham rompers, and slip-dresses.

Pink Tartan? My friend wanted to know how the show was but as I began to answer I was startled to find that I couldn't remember a single piece. Even during
the presentation, I found my eyes glazing over as trench after trench glided down the runway.

That's the thing with Pink Tartan - their clothes are very nice, and very elegant, but not particularly memorable, I find.

"What kind of woman wears David Dixon, anyway?" my seatmate to the left said in a wondering tone. "This collection is getting a little Bay-ish," according to the seatmate to my right.

Compared to some of the wilder young talents, old hand David Dixon's clothing is usually pretty safe, and yes, this season brought us little gray boxy jackets, sensible black shifts, navy silk halter-tops, and the like.

Ass, Boobs, Short-Shorts, Sport-Mesh All Make an Appearance at Designer Travis Taddeo's LG Fashion Week Show

Travis TaddeoI like skimpy clothing. High-cut, low-cut, short, scandalous--I love it all.

It's not my fault that I was impressed at an early age by the gaudiest of Versace and Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana! ("Briony loves short-shorts," Danielle Meder of Final Fashion teased as we watched the parade of ass rolling down the runway.)

This is why I dug Travis Taddeo's new collection. There was a lot of ass involved. And boobs.
