FW Poll #3: Does Joe Fresh Belong at Fashion Week?

There's no denying that Joe Mimran, head honcho at Joe Fresh, can do whatever the hell he likes when it comes to fashion in this city. And the fact he's the chair of the FDCC means he can also book prime spots on a Wednesday night for he and his wife to takeover the runway.

But, seriously, as important as it is to promote affordable fashion options right now, there are many who question whether Toronto Fashion Week is an appropriate venue for a brand sold in Loblaws. Just ask Toronto Star fashion scribe Derick Chetty who spent the entire show tonight staring at his crackberry.

The question needs to be asked - Does Joe Fresh belong at Fashion Week?

Who are you to say who deserves to be there or not? Let the public decide. If they don't like what's offered then can express it at the show. The resulys of the poll seem to disagree with you.

Personally I'm tired of being told that the only way for me to be fashionable is to empty my wallet on every purchase.

Go Joe!!!

Dude. Chill out. It's just a question.

Well it sounds like it's not appropriate. Fashion week, it seems, is only for rich people with elitist, holier-than-thou attitudes.

Wow. Why wouldn't it? The question reflects more about the values of the person asking than anything. I applaud Joe Mimram for not assuming that if you spend less on fashion you have no style. It's a clever and inclusive approach to fashion instead of having some exclusive club for those who have the resources or choose to spend their resources on expensive pieces by certain labels.
